#PenniesForJackson

The U.S. Mint stopped making pennies in 2025, but we still take ’em!
Ever since Jackson passed, we’ve found pennies everywhere – Often in the most unlikely places. This is an actual photos of Jeff’s haul from a single day the month after Jackson died:

Maybe it’s just a quirky coincidence, or maybe they’re “pennies from heaven”… Either way, they were the inspiration for this campaign!
Did you know there are over $3 billion worth of pennies in circulation? (And most of them are sitting in jars and drawers!)
Collecting pennies and other coins is a super-easy and fun way to raise funds and raise awareness, by simply placing a bucket or collection box or jar (or even just a sign) in your classroom, place of business, church, office, or literally anywhere!
And they are absolutely worth the effort! In 2025, we’ve averaged over $1,000 per month in coin collections, that directly supports leukemia research, patients, and families!
- Perkins Elementary School raised $3,005 in a Pennies for Jackson Coin Drive!
- Our friends at the Islander Market in St Pete have raised over $500 from their collection box!
Here are links for collection boxes and labels that you may find useful:
- Acrylic Collection Boxes (great for stores or offices)
- 2 x 4 labels (great for mason jars or other small containers)
Need something else? We’d be happy to provide custom labels for your collection boxes/jars that include a QR code to our Pennies for Jackson fundraising page.
Host a Pennies for Jackson Coin Drive Fundraiser at Your School!
How it works:
- We provide everything you need to host a drive, including instructions for teachers and staff, buckets for classrooms, flyers for students and parents, and a campaign kick-off video customized for your school (great for morning announcements!)
- We collect the buckets, count the money, and visit the school for the winning classroom’s pizza party!
- Teacher’s have reported that it’s a great way to involve students in the local community, while learning about:
- Philanthropy
- Marketing
- Counting & Money
